Here is “London Is Lethal”, an action-packed B-Movie from Shaggy Dog AI. London’s tourist attractions are transforming into monsters. Can two middle-aged superheroes and their levitating dog make the streets safe again? Yes, it’s deeply silly, and yes, the superheroes are me and Emma Reynolds.
Some AI shorts are designed to demonstrate how realistic a dragon’s skin texure can be made to look with the latest tool, how screwed we will all be after the imminent apocalypse, or how cinematic a neon-lit puddle can appear when gazed at by an astronaut. Our short is none of these things. It is shameless trash designed to be a bit of a laugh.
Celebrating the spirit of classic B-Movies, like Ed Wood’s “Plan 9 From Outer Space” with its paper-plate UFOs, Roger Corman’s “Little Shop of Horrors” with its man-eating plant, and Nathan Juran’s “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” with its maritally troubled giantess, “London Is Lethal” embraces the deadpan joys of synthetic acting and the ludicrously dodgy special effects attainable if you really put your mind to it.
Did we spend nine years in a basement crafting this with home-knitted tools? No. Did we spend a week plonking it together with Seedance and Google Omni? Indeed, we did.
Hope you enjoy it. And if you would like to see more of our human-directed AI work, check out our new website.
